Dubai Metro Timings (2026 Schedule)
The Dubai Metro runs every day of the week. Here are the official 2026 operating hours for both the Red and Green Lines, plus what you need to know about first trains, last trains and Ramadan.
Weekly Timetable
| Day | First train | Last train |
|---|---|---|
| Monday – Thursday | 5:00 am | 12:00 midnight |
| Friday | 5:00 am | 1:00 am (next day) |
| Saturday | 5:00 am | 12:00 midnight |
| Sunday | 8:00 am | 12:00 midnight |
"Last train" refers to departure from the first station of the line; the final trains reach the opposite terminus roughly an hour later. Gates close shortly before the last departure — don't cut it fine at intermediate stations.
Train Frequency
- Peak hours (roughly 7–9 am and 5–8 pm): trains every 3–4 minutes on the Red Line, 4–5 minutes on the Green Line.
- Off-peak: every 5–8 minutes.
- Late evening: up to 10 minutes between trains.
Ramadan & Public Holidays
During Ramadan and on public holidays the RTA usually adjusts hours — typically extending service after iftar and shifting the Sunday start. The changes are announced on RTA channels each year; check before late-night plans. See our detailed guide: What time does the metro start in Dubai?
Planning Around the Timetable
- Flying early from DXB? Sunday's 8:00 am start is the trap — take a taxi or bus for pre-8am flights on Sundays.
- Friday is the late night: perfect for Downtown fountain shows and dinner, with trains until 1:00 am.
- Use the fare calculator to estimate journey time — allow roughly 2 minutes per station plus 5 minutes for an interchange.
Last Train Times
Last trains depart around closing time — midnight most days, 1:00 am on Fridays — with the exact final departure at your station varying by direction (trains leaving a terminal at close still pass mid-line stations afterwards). The safe rule: be on the platform by 11:45 pm (12:45 am Fridays) anywhere on the network. For station-level last departures, check the RTA’s S’hail app. Miss it and it’s taxis until the 5:00 am restart — 8:00 am on Sundays.
