Dubai Metro Gold Class: Price & What You Get

Gold Class is the Dubai Metro's premium cabin — the small compartment at the very front (or rear) of every train with wider leather seats, more space and the best forward view of the skyline. It costs exactly double the standard fare and requires a Gold Nol card.

How to Ride Gold Class

  1. Buy a Gold Nol card (AED 25, including AED 19 credit) at any station.
  2. Follow the "Gold Class" markings on the platform floor to the correct end of the train.
  3. Tap in as normal — the Gold fare is deducted automatically when you tap out.

Inspectors check cards on board: riding in Gold Class with a Silver card carries a fine, and standing is not permitted when seats are full — Gold capacity is limited to seats only.

Is Gold Class Worth It?

Yes, if: you're travelling at rush hour and want a guaranteed seat, making a long scenic run (try Centrepoint → UAE Exchange along the full skyline), or carrying luggage to the airport.
Skip it if: you're going a stop or two off-peak — standard cabins are clean, air-conditioned and half the price. Families note: the Women & Children cabin is free to use with any card.
