How Dubai Metro Zones Work
Dubai's public transport network is divided into seven numbered fare zones; the metro passes through five of them. Your fare depends on how many zones your journey touches — not on the number of stations. Travelling within one zone is cheapest; crossing into a neighbouring zone costs AED 5; anything wider is capped at AED 7.50 with a Silver card. Transfers between metro, tram and bus within 30 minutes count as one journey.
Fares shown are indicative single-journey adult prices based on published RTA rates. Boundary stations can be charged in either adjacent zone; always confirm unusual journeys with the RTA S'hail app or nol.ae.
