International City Metro Stations: The Blue Line's Underground Giant

No district gains more from the Blue Line than International City. From 9 September 2029 it gets three stations — headlined by International City 1, the junction where the Blue Line's two branches meet, set to be the largest underground interchange in the network at depths reaching ~70 metres.

The Three Stations

Why This Matters So Much

Getting to International City Today (Until 2029)

  1. Red Line to Centrepoint, then RTA buses towards International City or a 15-minute taxi (AED 20–30).
  2. From Deira, buses from the Union/Gold Souq hubs serve the clusters directly — same Nol card throughout; confirm current routes in S'hail.

Construction on the deep interchange began with the Blue Line's 2026 tunnelling phase (progress updates). If you live, trade or invest here: the countdown clock to 9/9/2029 is the most important date in the district's history.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a metro station in International City?

Not yet — today it's Centrepoint station plus a bus or taxi. From 9 September 2029, the Blue Line adds three stations, including the network's largest underground interchange at International City 1.

How deep will International City 1 station be?

The interchange sits on the Blue Line's tunnelled section reaching depths of about 70 metres — the deepest and largest underground station in the Dubai Metro network.

Will the metro serve Dragon Mart?

Effectively yes — the Blue Line's International City stations sit beside the Dragon Mart corridor, replacing today's Centrepoint-plus-bus route with a direct ride.
